Cannot...."Create Route from Selected Track"

What map are you using? Can you attach a gpx file that demonstrates the issue? Thanks in advance for the help.

Thats a great idea. attached is a .gpx that wont create a route. Ive never been able to do it with several different gpx files. the version of BC is 4.3.5.

The version of device 4.8, and the map is 2015.20 and BC is 4.3.5.
ANy thoughts?

Your track begins and ends off-road, so BC calculates a "route" from the start of the track to the finish, which is 121 feet away. Have you tried a track which begins on a road and ends on a road, preferably at a point more than a few feet away (BC seems not to like closed loops)?

OK. I took at track from one my actual rides, double clicked to see gps data and then I deleted about 1/2 the contiguous data so there was a single line of route with different locations for the start and stop. Basically a 100 miles east west on major freeway.
When I select "create route from selected trace", Basecamp start a progress window with a green bar and then returns the error message, "There was an error calculating the route". It doesn seem to matter what data I use to experiment with, the result is always the error message. It does provide a route as a straight line from start to stop without following the roads, just a straight line. What am I doing wrong?.

Did the track you shared here also cause that error message? On my setup (BC 4.3.4, OS 10.9.4), it calculated quickly (not a surprise given the 121-foot length).

If not, can you also share the new track which did cause the error message? Also, you say you are using BC 4.3.5. There is no such released version for Macs, and this is the Mac software section of the forum, so perhaps you are using Windows, in which case I can't help much?

Prior to installing v4.4beta, I was able to convert most Tracks to Routes. Since installing the beta (and removing it) I am no longer able to "Create Route from Track" in v4.3.4. Tracks will not convert to anything other than a straight line unless I use Direct Routing no mater which routable map I use. Sending this Track to my NAV5 or zumo 590LM and using the "Convert to Trip" features yields a very good conversion considering the complexity of the Track and the errors in the map data.

I'd post an example Track but ALL of my tracks have this issue on all of my routable maps. Oh, I can't post an Attachment as I seem to be at the end of my 1MB.

That's not good news. I wonder what cruft the beta left on your computer that is "poisoning" 4.3.4? Did you remove hidden files in the user Library and/or prefs? Just curious.

Just a stab in the dark, but I wonder if the beta corrupted your Master DB? Do you have an untouched copy (Time machine?)?
