Trip Planner crashing BaseCamp

If I create a 5 day round trip that is within 1 day driving distance, Trip Planner creates 3 empty days. I can use the three empty days to drag waypoints from my collection to the empty days shown for the trip in My Collection view. If I drag the waypoints one at a time, two waypoints create a route in trip planner and life is good. If I select 2 waypoints and drag to the empty date is crashes BaseCamp.

This is a great feature, please don't remove to stop the crashing. Two drags is better than none.

Now BaseCamp is crashing on the second drag just about every time. Has this issue been reported on the forum? Seem like I remember reading something that could have been this issue.

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing trouble with BaseCamp. This issue with Trip Planner has been addressed and the fix will be included in the next release.

I also like this drag/drop feature for waypoints and routes into empty Days but I'm not getting the crashing you are. :confused: Just lucky I guess...:cool:

No crashes here, but an unusual result. If I drag in more than one waypoint at a time, the resulting route is created with the waypoints in the reverse order they were selected, exactly backward. Simple enough to invert the route but still. ;)

I noticed the reverse route issue the one time I got it work. I was trying to click in reverse order to make the route correct and every time I try now, BC crashes. With it working for you and Dan, I fear I have corrupted some of my data. I bet I have sent 20 crash reports. I should leave it alone until the update is released but I'm not good at following my own advice.

After crashing BaseCamp about 25 times with reports sent to Garmin, I deleted the trip I was working with and recreated the same trip. I have been dragging several routes from My Collection to the empty trip days. No more crashes and and this is a very easy way to get MyCollection routes into trip planner. I think I corrupted my original trip by trying to past a waypoint on top of the same waypoint in Trip Planner. What ever I did, BC was crashing no matter how I tried to create a route in Trip Planner for this one trip.

Thanks Dan for posting you drug routes. My work flow for now is new list, Add all needed POIs or waypoints needed for the trip. Create create routes in List. Make a new trip to match the to and from routes in the list. Drag any side trips (routes) from the list to the empty days. I know this is double work but Trip Planner can replace lists for my needs but it has features I can't get from the list. The good part is once I made the list, I can create the trip isn less than five minutes. I'm sure depending on the type of trip Trip Planner will be all some people need.
