Exporting kml waypoints to 60csx

Please forgive me if this a hopelessly newbie question, but...

I'm trying to export a set of about 60 waypoints in a kml file to my 60csx.

I've converted the kml file to gpx using GPSBabel, imported them into BaseCamp (v2.1.2, because that seems to be the latest version that will run on any of our Macs), where they show up just fine.

From there I select the waypoints that I'd like to send to the GPS, click the 'Send to GPS' button, select 'waypoints' as the info that I'd like to send, it seems to do its thing concluding with transfer complete. I see that the 'userdata.gpx' file in the GPX folder on the GPS has been updated, but when I go into the unit and look for the waypoints, they are not to be found.

Concerned that maybe 60 waypoints was too many in one go, I tried it with about a dozen waypoints - still no luck.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
  • What OS version are you running? v2.1.2 is very old and is basically an unsupported legacy version.

Have you deleted all the waypoints in your device? There is a 500 waypoint limit on many devices. If it has that many, the new ones will be ignored.

You cannot transfer anything but maps to a 60CSx when it is in "mass storage" mode. BC transferred a GPX file to the microSD card in your 60CSx (which was in mass storage mode). The 60C/76C models will only read maps, not GPX files, from the SD card.

So all you need to do is take your unit out of mass storage mode and transfer again.
