Extrex Venture to Extrex 10 - problems with compatibility with Getamap

Hi there

I have just updated from the Garmin etrex venture to the garmin etrex 10. I use OS Getamap to download my routes onto the Garmin.

With the new Etrex 10 I am now finding that the downloaded file does not contain the Way Pt numbers, consequently the file can not be viewed/ reversed or edited.

The download file name does appear however and can be subsequently viewed as a map on the GPS but the numbered Way Pts tags show only as solid markers.

Does anyone please have any ideas?

Many thanks Ken
  • Well as you've posted this in the Basecamp forum perhaps try using Basecamp to read the file and then send it to your Etrex using Basecamp?
  • Well I suggest then you contact getamap to see if they can help :)

Incidentally if the downloaded file, as you state, doesn't contain the waypoints then your Etrex cannot display them, so it really is a problem best directed to getamap.

You can in any case still use getamap to generate the file, but by passing it through Basecamp you may then find you have the detail you need. Of course you may not. Only by trying will you know.
