Hi SUSSAMB, you are helping at another thread (with Birdseye images). This one is related. My file structure on my iMac doesnt look quite the same as what you posted here. That may be my computer issue and not a Garmin /eTrex issue. However, i cannot locate any Garmin .gpx or .jnx files on my compouter. Global search in Finder- nothing.. Maybe my Basecap setup is faulty? Maybe stuff is showing up in Basecamp (I can see the Birdseye sat coverage in Basecamp on my screen, even after closing and restarting BC), but something is wrong. Thanks Don
PS- I will stop posting to this thread and limit my Birdseye image questions to the other thread. Thanks.
It looks like there are no JNX files on Basecamp... if I am reading the link correctly the Birdseye files are converted to JNX format when they are transferred to the device so the bad JNX files are on the device. Map files on a Mac have the MAPI extension. Don't know what the file extension for a Birdseye file container is on the computer.
Well then, it appears I have incorrectly interpreted the first sentence at the link I posted above: "When transferred to a device, BirdsEye images are stored in the JNX file format." To me, it implied that Birdseye files are in a different format when not stored on a device, e.g., when on a computer.
Unfortunately, I have no device able to display Birdseye files to attach to my Mac so I cannot help with their storage location on a Mac.
