Transfer ONLY selected lists, favorites, routes, waypoints & etc.

I have a Mac OS 10.9.3 with Basecamp 4.2.4.

Q 1.) When I transfer data from Basecamp to my Zumo 665, more than what I select is uploaded. I am careful to use the drop-down menu that specifies which list I've selected. Despite repeated transfers and data deletions in the Zumo, I am unable to restrict the transfer of only the data I want. How do I limit the data to be transferred? My next question may lead to a solution.

Q 2.) I notice that in the import step after a transfer of data to my Zumo 665 from BaseCamp, there are several favorites and routes I did not select in the most recent transfer, despite data deletions before the next transfer. How do I delete "unimported" data in the GPS unit, either by use of my Mac or directly on the screen of the Zumo?

Perhaps I solved the symptoms, if not found the cure. Using Finder in my Mac, I copied and then deleted the temp.gpx file from the GPS unit, and restarted the unit. When I looked at favorites and routes to import, I was surprised to see the data transferred as intended (exclusively) remained to be imported, but none of the other data that I did not want, tried to delete, but kept showing up. I thought all such data would have been deleted when I deleted the temp.gpx file.
