Any tips or tricks in using trip planner on Basecamp for an 11 day ride with multiple stops.
Thanks
  • I find trip planner very useful and I think we will see regular improvements. Planning is import because the easiest option to fix some problems is to delete and start over. I prefer to start the trip with the first distention as opposed to doing a round trip. With the current add hub function, the hub is added to the end of the trip with no way to move or insert. The only reason I use a hub is the title it adds. Here is an example. Start at trip Home to Acadia. Make a hub called Acadia area. Make a third hum call it Hampton area, next make a hub for Hersey ares. Finally do a hub for the trip home. Once you get you hubs added, you can add days, change days as you please. If you don't care about the headings you can forget about hubs and just add days.
  • I agree, but I like using the round trip feature, but I may be biased given the amount of my blood, sweat and tears that went into creating it. I wouldn't pick a number of days up front (leave the 1 day default), and let BaseCamp tell you how many days you are going to be on the road traveling between the hubs and then you can add days to the hubs when you know how many days are left. The biggest missing feature in trip planner is the ability to rearrange the order of hubs in a trip, so you probably should get those all set up before you start adding other POIs as PSEABOLT said.
