I have base camp 4.3.1 installed and went to delete some 'favorites' and daily logs from the 1450 LMT but base camp says it can't delete them. Is there a way to use Basecamp to manage ALL user data on the GPS?
No. It's the way nuvis are configured, which is why Basecamp is saying you can't delete them. Deletions have to be done on the nuvi itself.
You can delete and manage data on a Dakota using BaseCamp but not the Nuvi unless its something you have added in the current session. In addition to deletion on the Nuvi I have to delete from the desktop to keep my Nuvi from showing deleted stuff in BaseCamp
To complete clean nuvi without hard reset:
1. Turn Nuvi on and delete routes (if the nuvi saves routes), waypoints, tracks
2. Plug your Nuvi into your Mac and let it mount on the Desktop
3. Double click the mounted volume and drag everything in the GPX folder to the trash.
4. Empty the trash. (other wise the Nuvi will show the data in the trash)
5. Start BaseCamp and your Nuvi should be clean.
