Yup :) I think MapInstall shows the number of segments somewhere. Or maybe that's in the Mac version. I forget.

MapInstall 4.0 does show the number of selected tiles on the Advanced Page.

... so if I save this to my hard drive will I be able to just copy this to another card without re-installing this map from Map Install?

Yes. I save .img files for future use. I save mine to various media.

As I said yesterday IMO MapInstall is designed for the 99% who just want to transfer one (maybe two) maps to their unit(s). That's fine but I do much more "advanced stuff" and have for years.

No-one is forcing (yet) anyone to use MapSource/BaseCamp/MapInstall. Use what works for you.
