Is it me or does BaseCamp regularly not same my info?

Basecamp 4.2.4 on OSX 10.9.2 with eTrex 20.

Just started to use BaseCamp. It happened to me already a few times that i modify data in BaseCamp and the next time i launch BaseCamp this data is not there.
Examples:
I convert imported tracks into routes, save them in lists. Close BaseCamp, open BaseCamp again and no routes and no lists. Just my tracks in Unlisted Data.
Yesterday i copied tracks from my 20 to My Collections, created a list called Tracks and put the tracks in there. This morning i want to revise the tracks and optimize them only to find out that they are not in my Tracks list anymore. The list is there, there is just nothing in it.

I did use the Trasfer from Device menu option. In my perception this needs to copy the tracks from my device to My Collections, am i wrong?

Am i doing something wrong? Is BaseCamp just buggy? Is there something i am overseeing?

Thanks,

TON.
  • Not sure what's going on as Basecamp copies/moves tracks etc back and forth from my Etrex 20 with no issue.

Have you tried simply dragging and dropping data into lists? Or right clicking data and chosing 'send to'?

Those options are what I use on the PC version, they may not be available on the mac.

It appears that the data you are adding is not being saved. Is BaseCamp crashing before you quit? Can you try adding lists and routes again with the console open and see if you see an error when you quit BaseCamp. You might also try the new beta. There were a couple of tweaks to saving that may either fix your issue or at least give more information.

BaseCamp is not crashing as far as i can see. Mostly after a few times it works. I just have to check a couple of times.
I will try the latest beta to see if that helps.

Just installed the latest Beta and basically all the data i was missing before showed up. I hope the quality of this Beta is not really Beta because my problem seems to be fixed now. Then only thing i need to do now is reorganize all my data again.
    Thanks for the help!
  • Well it is a beta and there are some issues, but you probably won't notice them. The full release shouldn't be far off though.
