Setting average speed

I am trying to see how do I set the average speed for Driving mode?

If I try to edit a custom profile, (Activity -> Profile -> Edit), I cannot set any exact fixed average speed.
Edit Custom speed has a slider bar which says the average over or under speed. Did not get a hang of how to use it.

Can any one explain, if I am missing some thing ?

Which Basecamp version are you using? In the latest versions Edit, Options, Activity Profile, Routing and then click on the button that says Customise brings up a box where you can adjust speeds.

Hi, I am using Version 4.2.4.

Here :

Edit Activity, leads me to : -> Edit Route Preferences.
And Under this I see : Custom Speed -> Default Speed Adjustment.
Which only moves from -10 to +25 units (in my case Km/h)

Now I am not sure how I need to use this slider to set the speed? Has this changed in later versions?
I updated to Version 4.2.4 via Mac App Store. If I need to download a later version, separately, please let me know.

But the basic question still remains. I am not able to set the average speed. In a trip planner, when I set a start time for a trip, the ETA comes out quite late.
I think thats because of the average speed, Basecamp uses.

To set a custom Average Speed for a given (selected) Activity, open Preferences -> Routing, at the bottom of the page you can adjust a ± speed for all road types. Then, when you use Trip Planner, it should use that custom speed for that Activity.

Thats exactly what I am asking to know too. I did find that setting. The slider gives a "default speed adjustment". This can go from -10 to +25 km/h.
I am not able to under how that changes the average speed to what we want. I thought it augments the average custom speed (set somewhere else) by this amount from the slider.

That setting changes the default speed for the road by the amount you specify. In 4.3, the range of the change is larger based on customer requests. Note this change does not affect the speed on residential streets.
