Hello,
Basecamp 4.2.4, Mac OS X 10.7.5
I'm using Basecamp to do some Motorcyle rally routing. We try to hit a certain average miles per hour (including fuel, rest, bonus, food stops) over the length of the rally which can last for anywhere from 1 day to 11 days. The speed I would like to route at is 45mph over a 24 hour period. This would be called the "overall average" versus the "moving average".
I am trying to adjust my route time by adjusting the speed.
The only way I see to adjust the routing speed is with the slider under each activity that maxes out at -5 mph.
A few questions:
1) If you set the slider to zero what does Basecamp assume for your speed? The speed limit is followed exactly for every road in the route?
2) If you adjust the slider does the adjustment amount apply to each leg of the route? IE if you set the slider to -5 mph does Basecamp then assume you are traveling at 65mph in a 70 mph zone and 40 mph in a 45mph zone?
3) Any other way to easily set the overall average speed for a route?
4) The only way I have found to "induce" some time in the route and drop the overall average is to add stopped time at each via point in the route.
5) Can Basecamp account for fuel stops every XXX miles?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Andy
