I use Mac 10.7.5 and BC 4.2.4. The icons for poi in "my collection" are showing at any zoom level but I can't them for any other ones. I wish to see lodging and dining options in particular.
Thanks!
Also go to (this for Windows, mac may differ) Edit, Options, Activity profile and click on Display Options to ensure the options you need are selected.
As SUSSAMB mentions, you should set your map detail level to highest on the map bar at the bottom of the map and the you'll need to zoom to .5mi scale to start seeing the POI icons.
Thanks for the reply. I have the slide for detail all the way to the right and zoomed to where the map scale show .5 MI. or less. I do not have an "options" available on the Edit pull down. I do have a View option which has "show selected data on map" and from there I can get a list of items to be checked or not. None of the icons show, checkd boxes or blank boxes. So, any other ideas?
OK. I think it's the "checked boxes" thing. What checked boxes? If I go to BC preferences there is a "Display" option with a box that has a bar saying "Hide Map Features..." and beneath that is a statement "Hiding some map features". If I click that bar there is a list which includes Points on it. Underneath that one item is "Food and Drink" and I have checked that box. For another item "Attractions" I have put a check for only "Park/Garden" which puts a dash in the box for Attractions.
If I open "Maps" at the top it shows "Installed Map Info" which indicates the maps I have - City Navigator 2013.4 and 2014.3. If I click on "Installed POI Info" nothing is displayed. Should I have a POI File and if so how do I get it?
Sorry to be a nag but this is frustrating since it was working and I have not idea what happened.
Assuming you are on a mac, go to BC preferences, Click the display icon, click hide map features at bottom. Nothing is needed in Installed POIs. I download POI like Cracker Barrel, and install them in My Collection, they appear as waypoints. I put them in a smart folder, I zoom out and select the folder. I can see the entire east cost and the Cracker Barrels in the selected folder appear on the map no matter what the zoom level. If you zoom in enough you will see the BC cracker barrel in addition to the downloaded POI cracker barrel.
