I zoomed in to adjust a way point when customizing a routing and was surprised to the see the route line going all over the place, not following the highway. This is the first time I've noticed this and am wondering what's happened.
Difficult to tell unless you can provide more detail. What map was selected? What route activity? What routing settings? How were you adjusting the waypoint? What do you mean by 'all over the place'?
Just a guess, given the sparse info, but if the waypoint needed to be moved because it was off the road or on the wrong side of a divided road, the "mess" you saw was BC's failed attempt to fix things.
A recalc with the waypoint in the correct location should fix everything.
Map selected: City Navigator North America 2013.4 Route activity: Create Route Settings: Calculate - shortest Distance; Elevation Mode - Standard; Road type avoidance - Unpaved; Feature type avoidance - Car pool, U-turns, Seasonal road closures, Narrow trails. Adjusting by hold down "option" and drag route line to new location All over the place means curving away from road, going across fields and streams, i.e., not following highways.
All that said, it appears to be back to normal today.
