Nat. Geographic TOPO! CD-ROM for windows to Basecamp on Mac?

Hello and thanks for any help in advance.
I have an old set of Nat. Geographic, Northeastern USA TOPO! maps "for windows 95, 98, 2000, NT, ME, XP". I am able to use them with the TOPO! software on my Mac (OS 10.9.1). I am trying to now download them to Basecamp for use on my Oregon 600, and am having difficulties. Any ideas how to do this?

You probably can't. Garmin has their own proprietary format for their maps as do other GPS manufacturers. I bet Nat Geo does too.

If your TOPO software can create routes and export them, you may be able to import them into BC (or use GPSBabel to convert if there are no matching formats). But the maps themselves will not work.
