Hi, posted a message elsewhere, new Basecamp user (moved from windows to mac). I am trying to find a city or town when creating a route (just like in Mapsource) but it seems Basecamp doesn't seem to do that? Or did I miss something?

thanks

Martin
  • You can in the Windows version, but mac sometimes doesn't quite behave the same way ... for some reason only known to the developers Cities are under POIs, so you need to search through them.

Yes, fortunately for Mac users ;), BaseCamp on the Mac does not function like the Windows version. And, yes, Cities do fall under All Points of Interest. But, you can customize your Search Options in Mac-BaseCamp so that you only retrieve Cities matches if you so wish.

Also, since you are new to the Mac and BaseCamp, you might find it informative to look over the Help information and watch the Video Tutorials.

What are the steps to customize the search options.?

    Rather simple actually....

    Just 1,2,3,4...

    1. Open the Search panel...

    2. Open Options....

    3. Select POIs....

    4. Select the Sub Categories if there are any....

Garmin can change these of course at any time...usually adding new categories or sub-categories.
  • If you understand it's simple if you don't it complicated. I have used the function for RV Parks but did not make the connection for cities.

    Thanks
