Basecamp crash, corrupted database...recovery possible?

Scenario:
I was trying to import a handful of very large GPX files, each containing hundreds or thousands of routes. During this process, Basecamp crashed.

On restart, Basecamp crashed again. Attempts to reopen it continued to cause crashing until I moved the renamed the 4.2 folder in the Database folder, at which point Basecamp did start with an old version of my data (presumably importing from the 4.1 database).

I've tried importing the alldata.gdb file that didn't work, but that just causes Basecamp to crash. Is there anything else I can do to recover my data from the corrupted database? (Unfortunately, the external drive I use as a backup has chosen now to stop mounting, so I'm without a good backup, as well).
