Basecamp doesn't seem to recognize runs, swims, or transitions from my 910xt.

I just completed a triathlon and the only item that uploads to basecamp is the biking portion. Connect.garmin dashboard shows the swim, transition, bike, transition, and run so I know the transfer is working. All activities are clearly on my device also. The reason I downloaded basecamp is so I could crop my run because I left the device on for 4 minutes after I finished. I don't know how to do that, but if base camp doesn't even recognize runs or swims then i guess I'm hosed.

Also, now strava won't find the run or the swim, probably because I deleted and re-uploaded them to connect.garmin dashboard in my frustrations. I would like to upload gpx files direct for strava after I crop the run, however I can't even find where this MAC computer stores the gpx files. So frustrated.

thanks for any advice, I am really crappy with MAC's, they are just weird.
  • By any chance does your Mac boot off a case sensitive filesystem? You can select the drive icon and then File -> Get Info in Finder. Mine says "Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled)" and Base Camp won't read or write to 1490 or 765.

Formatted a new boot volume with the usual Mac default case-insenstive and mounted this case-senstive volume too. Ran Base Camp off the case-senstive volume using OS on case-insensitive volume and everything worked. Other Garmin utilities work with either filesystem, such as Garmin Express.

BaseCamp is not really designed for fitness devices. It does work adequately with many Edge devices, but the watches, especially the multi-sport ones, not so much. Sorry for the inconvenience.
