Basecamp 4.2.x route detail not showing

I had created a series of routes in 4.2.1 with days / times to depart, interim stop layovers, etc. A change in plans required me to put off the routes. When I went to edit in Basecamp I can see them in the left bar, and on the map but if I double click (or select) the route the detail no longer shows up! The only thing I can think of is the start date is now past.

I updated my 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 and get same result

I am unable to edit the route at all except the name. I tried recalculate, invert, with no luck. Each has 6 to 7 waypoints (I'm in sales) and would like them back! Any help appreciated.

BTW they act the same either selecting my Nuvi 880 or internal in Basecamp... but the route does not show up on my Nuvi.

Thanks in advance!
  • To see the routes that you've sent to your nuvi you have to 'import' them ... click on My data then Import.

The viewing problem is in Basecamp application. Wondering if a bug that does not allow detail viewing if date has past?
  • BaseCamp doesn't track the start dates of your routes, so they don't expire. In this case I think a screen shot would go a long way to understanding the issue, because I'm not quite understanding what is going on. If you created a trip in the trip planner, it will show up as a folder in the left hand pane. It will contain folders for each hub which will have a list for each day. If you double click on the trip folder it will open trip planner with that trip. You can then edit any part of the trip. You can change the date by picking any day in the trip and then clicking on the date icon.

If you did not use the trip planner, but instead did all your planning in the route dialog, you should find the route in myCollection and hit cmnd-I. That will open it in the same route dialog and you should see the same thing you put in.

If neither of those is the case, then I probably will need to see a screen shot of what is going on.

I appreciate the comments. I had created them in the Route dialog originally. I ended up resetting in the preferences pane, and was then able to open the route detail but if making changes it would not recalculate. Having the info I created new routes. Odd but done. Thanks!
