How to display two maps (one transparent overlaid)?

How do I display a transparent overlay map over a Topo U.S. 24K map? Under "Maps" I see both maps installed. I can click either one, and either displays. I can't figure out how to display both maps, with the transparent overlay map on top of the topo map!

Basecamp curreently doesn't allow this. IIRC it's on the 'to do' list but don't hold your breath, I suspect it's a very long list :)
