BaseCamp 4.2.1 and Fastest vs Shortest routing

In the latest release of BC, I can not see a change in routing when I select fastest vs shortest routing preferences for automative activity. In previous version, the shortest route would always go straight through cities with bypasses and take many shortcuts on secondary roads. I have only one avoidance checked for U Turns. When I go to BC routing preference and change the routing preference from either the shortest or fastest to the other, the route is recalculated but route or the distance does not change. The change occurred after installing version 4.2.1 of BC or after the CN 2014.10 map update, not sure which.

Just tried with Windows 4.2.2 and it's working fine, maybe it's a bug in Mac 4.2.1 ...

I just tried it with 2013.40 maps and got the same results. I tried it with different activities and I get the same fastest 130 mile route on all activities I checked.

On a different thread I explained that this was an issue that would be fixed in 4.2.2. Hopefully, that will be out today.

Does the setting on the device and in basecamp have to be identical to be accurate. For example on road fastest time versus off road shortest distance ?

Please start your own thread rather than revive one 12 years old, and provide a more detailed question as it's not clear what you're asking, thanks. Need to know which device, map and BaseCamp version you're talking about as a minimum.
