Deleting Geocaches from Oregon

I love using BaseCamp with my Oregon550. I tried geocaching briefly, but found it was not my game — now I want to reduce the clutter on the BaseCamp screen, but am finding it difficult to delete the geocaches.

In my efforts, I have mounted the Oregon as a volume and can see the GPX folder, but the contents are not as described in several posts for performing this deletion on Windows machines.

Since I do not understand the logic of the whole thing, I am hesitant to start deleting files in the GPX folder (those contained in the Archive, Current and Nav folders as well as several "Waypoints" gpx files).

Is there a method for a Mac?

Run Garmins Basecamp program, connect your Oregon to your mac and you will see all that's loaded in Basecamp. You can then delete what you want as you'll see it all on screen.

Basecamp allows you to delete them on the Oregon also ... just remember that as you're using a mac you may need to empty the trash to get rid of everything completely :)
