Is there a way for me to draw in a road that doesn't appear on the Basecamp map 2013.4 (e.g. small crossover road that's missing between lanes on a divided highway)? I need to do this to avoid needlessly travelling miles out of my way. Thanks in advance.
Um, if you know this road is there why would you "travel miles out of my way"???
It's for a mapping/gps project (for a Zumo 665) that needs to be as accurate as I can make it. I am still looking for an idea about possibly drawing roads in on the Basecamp map. Thanks.
You could try using OpenStreetMap based mapping. You can download the maps for free, and install them in BaseCamp, this is probably the easiest website to use: http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/
If a road is missing/incorrect on OpenStreetMap, then you can add it.
You will need to join OSM.org in order to "edit" maps. But, the process is quite straight forward - assuming you understand digital map editing.
Another option for you would be to create an overlay map for your zumo665 project of the roads that are not on CN (or any other map). You can do this in several ways but the easiest is to turn your Tracks into a overlay map using one of several free third-party tools like Javawa IMGfromGPX.
