Ipad GIS Kit app to Basecamp conversion

I am using the GIS Kit app on an ipad to create some custom map data e.g.: trails, restricted areas, structures, etc. The product is great on the ipad. When I import the data to Baescamp it appears as tracks and not the original product that I created. The problem is I would like to download the data to Basecamp and to to my Garmin units.

I suspect that is has something to do with proper file format. GIS Kit only allows the export of .gpx and .kml files. Please advise on a way to convert/transfer the data to Bascamp properly, in order to maintain the final product that was created with the GPS Kit app. I am utilizing a mac. Thank you.

  • It's not clear what you are trying to do. I'll assume it's create routes to try to answer the question.

GPX is a file format that can contain tracks, routes, or lists of waypoints, for example. So if your iPad app exports tracks, BC will read tracks, not routes. Can you create routes in GIS Kit?
