Basecamp - Fenix - Duplicate Tracks & Waypoints

I've read several threads about Basecamp creating duplicate entries already. None of them were specific to the Fenix or to the current version of Basecamp that I'm running (v 4.1.1.0).

What's Happening:
I go for a ride and create a track and when I go to upload that to the computer, Basecamp not only creates duplicate entries for tracks that are already in Basecamp, it also creates tracks on the same day at separate times, despite the fact that I'm only recording one track per day.

Any help would be great!
(photo attached is of My Collection after importing from the watch)

Additional Information (if it's helpful):
I have tried deleting all of the tracks on the watch, cleaning up the tracks in "My Collection" and then ...
- sending the cleaned up tracks to the device.
- leaving the watch clear of old tracks to only import new tracks

    Just guessing here, but:

The tracks have different names, i.e., one ends in the time and the other ends in a descriptive word. So, to me it looks like you are creating the duplicative track when you are entering the name. Perhaps the track is somehow first saved with the start time or end time as the name and then you rename it?

The collection of tracks separated by a few moments in time usually happen when a device loses satellite lock. Or, it might think you are moving slowly and it should stop the track and start a new one when you start moving again. Does the Fenix have a setting for auto starting tracks?

Caveat: I'm guessing because we aren't sitting next to each other so I can't watch what you are doing.

I have a fenix. The duplications are created when you transfer the tracks from the fenix to BaseCamp. Here is why: You are sending a Track(s) to the fenix with names such as 2013-03-18 - Bike Ride then you go make your ride on 2013-03-18 and the fenix records your tracks for that day. Yes, the fenix will auto-start/stop the track when you are not moving for a few minutes whence the timestamp if you have it set to Ultra-Track.

BaseCamp will not filter any tracks upon transfer, that's your job.

Hi Jack - Thank you for the info on the lost satellite lock. That could be it, although it seems like the tracks are both the same length (and duplicate themselves before I even import them).

Does anybody know if there is a separate track created for the GPS Data Saved or should they all be part of the same track?

I have the same issue - it was fine, then I changed the Pos. Format data fields and it all went wrong - changed my time display, changed date fields in profiles, all of which I have reset, but it creates two tracks (one 'blue' like it used too, and one 'grey') and it also creates little snippets of tracks as the original poster mentioned. How can I stop this as I fear this may eat up more power and I need to save every bit of battery life for an upcoming ultra!

Is the Fenix set to record tracks in FIT format or GPX format, or both?
If its set to record in both formats, I presume it will create 2 separate files, so BaseCamp may show this as 2 duplicate tracks.
