BaseCamp Topography disappeared while viewing on my MAC screen

While moving around in Basecamp, zooming in and zooming out to view my tracks, BaseCamp froze and then the topography disappeared. It came up with some kind of error, it happened quickly and then it was gone. Now I only see the yellow map with roads and my tracks and no topography. The options under display are all checked to show but they don't show. I rebooted but still nothing. How do I get the topography to show again? I hope someone can help me! Thank You!

Sounds like your system has gone back to displaying the Global map only.

Click on the Maps menu item and select the map you want to display.
  • August is correct. When BaseCamp experiences a map error, it will switch to the Global Map to protect the user from being stuck with a recurring error that prevents them from starting BaseCamp. As August said, just go to the Maps menu and pick your map. Note that the map picking toolbar control is still available if you customize your toolbar.
