I just downloaded version 4.1 and installed. Seems to be working fine but why no mention on this forum? Am I missing something? Version 4.1 appear to be a major upgrade, it has cloud syncing but I can find instructions on setup.
Not sure you'll get your last wish, which if I read you right you want identical waypoint names in My Collection, but you can already have the same names on your GPS and in Basecamp now :confused:
Sure, I can rename my waypoints on my GPSr to conform with BC's limitation here, (and keep a list for what the next available waypoint name should be) but that is not the point.
A couple of quick examples: 1) I use 'W' to mark walleyes caught while fishing. BC turns these into 'W3,' 'W61,' 'W125,' ext. Not hard to figure out the original waypoint name but it's sure not a naming system I want cluttering up my GPSr screen. 2) I use numbers for BWCA campsites and to keep them short I don't use the 2,000+ unique USFS site numbers, rather '1' through '5' (or '12,' or however many campsites are on that particular lake). This one gets really weird, because it is often difficult to sleuth out whether BC's campsite '121' was originally named '1' or '12' or '121.' (Yes, there are that many on Lac La Croix...)
It just seems that a better folder hierarchy than currently employed by BC could allow this.
You beat me to it. The file 006D135900.gpi which contains airport custom POIs is indeed the culprit. If you change .gpi in the filename to something else, BaseCamp won't crash. We are planning on releasing a fix to this and a couple of other issues in the next few weeks, but the exact day is up in the air. Sorry for the inconvenience.
The file is from november 2011 and did belong to a City Navigator NT Europe version 2012.30? For some additional POI's which where not in the map. Further releases of CN maps did never had an extra GPI, as far as I am in, this was the only time (with CN NT EU)

On my zumo 660 the file is dated Jan 29, 2009 and consists of hundreds of airports around the world. My zumo came with North American maps.
Just "upgraded" to Basecamp 4.1 (Mac OS X 10.7.5). Basecamp crashes as soon as I plug in my nuvi 1390 with Australia & NZ maps. As far as I can tell there is no file 006D135900.gpi on the nuvi. Any help appreciated.
