OK... I know you guys are sick and tired of hearing about the features that exist in MapSource that are missing in BaseCamp, but I have to ask. Do you ever look at the Windows version of BaseCamp? I finally did, so here's my wish list based on that limited exposure.
#1 (a repeat, sorry). Dirt road and trail data displayed out to 5 miles. They've got it.
#2 (OK a MapSource repeat, sorry). The ability to set average speeds for different road types. Windows BaseCamp, once configured, gives me accurate estimates of total time for a specific route.
#3 (missing in both). True waypoint category support that functions independent of the list structure.
Please, do not under any circumstances port any of the look, feel or workflow of the Windows version over to the Mac side. Compared to the Mac version or even MapSource it sucks IMO. ;)
Just as a FWI, did you know that a backup file created in Mac BaseCamp can be restored into Windows BaseCamp, in essence transferring your existing Collection and folder structure between operating systems? Very cool.
There may be more, I'm not done pocking around yet. You see, I'm in mapupdatehell and have a bit of time on my hands... I may also have about $1500.00 worth of Garmin brand paperweights. But that's a rant for a different forum. :D
