divide route in basecamp

I created a route in basecamp, and it's over 50 points, so I can't load it on my Montana. On the PC version of basecamp there is a divide tool. Is there an easy/quick way to split up my route?

Currently, there is no "Divide Route" feature in Mac BaseCamp. And, there isn't an easy way to divide your route. Better, is to reduce the Via Points if you can.
  • Until the divide route is added, I would suggest duplicating the route and then delete the extra points from the duplicate. I understand that it isn't as straightforward, but it will work.

I was afraid that's what I'd hear. Can't reduce that much. I was mapping out the Trans Am Trail, and did it state by state. I have 150-200 points in each state. I already made tracks that i can follow, but would like to have the routing too.

I've always found it easier to manage if I segment my Tracks and Routes (when I use them) into one Day segments. This will usually get the Via Point count below 50. If you don't want to do that much Route Editing/Trip Planning, just stick with the Tracks.

    Have fun on the TAT!

    Cheers,
