BaseCamp 4 crash

[For some reason I can't reply to the BC4 thread; I'll try again.]

I had a crash, described in the BC4 thread on both of my Macs running 10.6.8. After feedback and some experimentation, it appears to be an issue with the database but since the system crashes on startup, I have no way to identify what that issue is.

What do I need to provide, if anything, to help debug this? Not being able to upgrade BC3 data to BC4 would definitely be a deal-breaker for me.
  • Whups, this belongs in the Mac forums. May I ask someone to actually move it there?

I also have a startup crash problem with OS X 10.7.4. I know it is the database as I have several "My Collection" databases and only one of them causes the crash. I have tried to eliminate some of the data types in the problem database that are not in my other databases but still have the crash issue.

I sent in my Mac Problem Report info and the Garmin "user\Library\Caches\Garmin\BaseCamp.log file". Haven't had any feedback yet. I expect they haven't found the problem yet.

    Update

I was able to remove (delete) all of the "unlisted data" in the My Collection that is causing the crash issue using v4 Windows BaseCamp (which obviously doesn't have the issue). I installed/started v4 Mac-BC with an empty My Collection database. It started up with no issues. I then Restored the database with no Unlisted Data and v4 started - without a crash. The problem is in the Unlisted Data List in Mac-BC (but the Dev Team already knew that I'm sure).

I wish I could find the offending data object but that would take a very long time - if there even is an offending data object.

    Cheers,
