Track Summary in Google Earth

Aloha all,

I am not an expert with GPS. I learned how to export a track from Base Camp to Google Earth. I created many such tracks in Google Earth years ago. I haven't created any since 2010, but I have been tracking lots of hikes with my Garmin since then. I have a 60CSx. I am now trying to process all the tracks stored in my GPS and get them into Google Earth.

What I was doing was exporting a folder from Base Camp to a GPX file, then importing that file into Google Earth. It used to give me a nice summary of my walk whenever I clicked on the walk in the sidebar of Google Earth. But now that data is missing from my imports. Am I doing something wrong or is there a better way? Or is this just something that's been eliminated from either Base Camp or Google Earth? Any hlep would be appreciated. I'm running the latest versions of OS X Lion, Base Camp, and Google Earth.

  • I do this daily with my walk/run activites. However, the import is typically from Garmin Connect. I just tried it from BaseCamp, so now I know that works too. I'm not sure you'll be able to export the folder. I did it with 1 run as a test. I changed to opacity to 100% to make the track stand out more. See below...
