Match photo sends wrong coordinates

Basecamp correctly placed my photo's along the route, but it sent the wrong coordinates to my pics Metadata.

Metadata coordinates set by Basecamp and as seen in Adobe Bridge:

41,58.585N 118,42.2938W

Coordinates shown in Basecamp for the same photo:

N41 59 32.5 W118 38 06.5

Any ideas?
  • Looks like its simply the same coordinates in two different formats. If you converted one to the other, I think you'd see they are about the same.

I've plotted both sets of coordinates in Google Earth and while they are close, they don't match up. What formats are you talking about?

The top set of coordinates are in the format Degrees & Decimal minutes

    41 degrees 58,585 minutes North
    118 degrees 42.2938 minutes West

The second set of coordinates are in the format of degrees, minutes & seconds.

    41 degrees 59 minutes 32 and one-half seconds North
    118 degrees 38 minutes 6 and one-half seconds West

To convert the latitude in the first set to DMS just multiply 0.585 by 60 to get the number of seconds. That works out to 35 and one-tenth seconds. So it would be 41 degrees 58 minutes 35.1

Obviously a different location. Perhaps there is a conversion error in the program.
