Basecamp Feature problem/suggestions

Can you please make it possible to copy coordinates off of the detail track window? Also, it would be helpful if you could either hide this window (Yellow radio button doesn't work) or at least let it go behind the map window.
Also, when I export data to Excel, the time is in military time with the date and time joined together. Please separate the date and time and make the time regular 12 hour time instead of military time.

Been a while since I last used EXCEL but wouldn't it be trivial to have it split the date off from the time and then display it in whatever format you desired.

Having it done in BaseCamp would just make it very difficult to sort properly. And, when you talk about time are you talking about local time, Zulu time, DST...

12 hour time is just the normal convention in a minority of the locations in the world.

    exporting to excel

Hi Jack, how do you take the data from basecamp to excel? I can't copy and paste like I could with mapsource. Exporting as a txt file won't take across Irish National Grid, but automatically brings lat's long's.

Alas, I am in the PC world (my Mac is so old it runs a G4 so I can't use the modern versions of BaseCamp). Having said that, on a PC one is still able to copy the data from the track detail pane and paste it into the spreadsheet program of one's choice.

I just used Google Drive's spreadsheet and the data came over as expected allbeit most likely using Zulu time and Lat/Long. My guess is that the internal representation is always Lat/Long with the presentation being the user's choice. I am not familiar with the ING but suspect there is a way in Excel to convert Lat/Long. (If I get some free time I'll see what I can find :)

Rats, I shouldn't do this when I'm tired.

Just drew a track in Ireland and set up the options to display using ING. Copied it into a new Google Drive spreadsheet and it came over perfectly using the ING.

I think if I had exported it to a gpx file and then looked at it using an xls viewer I would have seen the coordinates in Lat/Long. (Just a guess,)

So, to solve your problem, i.e. copying the details on a Mac you might need to find a way to run Windows and the Win version of BC or convince the devs to add the ability to copy the data from the track details pane.
