Transferring routes

I have created a few routes in BaseCamp on the assumption that I could transfer them to my Nuvi 550 and use them. However, my attempts to transfer the routes have met with failure - actually, everything seems to go fine, but I cannot see the routes on the Nuvi. Was I mistaken to think I could do this? What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
  • See page 20 of your owners manual, having sent the routes to your 550 you need to import them so you can view them ... ;)

Finding my routes on my Nuvi

See page 20 of your owners manual, having sent the routes to your 550 you need to import them so you can view them ... ;)

I have a Nuvi 310 (old I know) and have the same problem as described by the original poster: I've created the route and Basecamp tells me that it has transferred it to my device )which it recognized and didn't seem to have an issue with, and didn't inform me of any incompatibility issues)

I've looked through my user manual but can't find any reference to accessing the route I've created in Basecamp.

Prior to installing and using Basecamp I updated the Nuvi's firmware using Garmin WebUpdater.

Please tell me I can access the route I created. I've just spent about two hours looking at all sorts of ways of getting route planned on my Mac onto my Garmin.. and the journey is due to start in the morning. :(

    Thanks

I don't believe that your device (although I've not heard of a nuvi 310) supports the importing or saving of planned routes - from any source.

I think the 310 may have been a UK/Europe only model.

Methinks it's time to upgrade... but what to do... wait for the new iPhone and use that, or get a dedicated unit?

    Ho hum.

Although Garmin NA, Western-EU and UK work OK on the iPhone, they do NOT support the loading/saving of pre-planned Routes. There are several other iPhone Nav apps that do and their maps are FREE to download.

    Cheers,
