I need to transfer the routes I have made in Basecamp to a person who uses Map My Ride.
I have a Garmin Edge 800.
The GPX file it produces does not follow the roads when he inputs it into Map my ride.

Not surprising. Routes tend to be map specific. I don't know what type of data they require but try converting the Route's to Track's in BaseCamp and sending those to MapMyRide.
