Installed BaseCamp 3.3.2.0 - lost "My Collection"

I have just installed the new version of base camp. When I opened it, the "My Collection" window was empty. Very frustrating!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might recover them? Does anyone know where the file(s) containing my gpx routes are located on the hard disk - I'll go looking.

Thanks in advance.

Same here.

Scenario 1: Updated through the Mac App store. None of the saved data appears in BaseCamp. Only recovered BridsEye data. I even tried copying everything from the database folder for 3.2 in the Library file to 3.3 with no change.

Scenario 2: Restored back to 3.2.2 from a backup (both the App and Data) and tried to update through download from Garmin with the same results.

For now I'm running 3.2.2 until this is resolved. There is a bug for sure.

UPDATE 1: I tried importing a track directly from the 3.2 database folder and 3.3.2 says it is corrupt (3.2 opens them fine). I also tried to restore from a 3.2 backup file. Same results. No data. I exported my My Collection folder while in 3.2 and then imported that into 3.3. That worked but of course, all of the folder structure etc is gone. I will have to go and re-do it all.

Note: All of the BaseCamp data is stored in ~/Library/Application Support/Garmin/Basecamp

Note2: I am running Mac OS X 10.7.3
• Same here. There is a suggestion in the FAQ to restore "missing" tracks - reset the application - but that doesn't work for me. I have subdirectories for the 3.3, 3.2, 3.1 and 3.0 databases, but I need 3.2, obviously to have my data from the update.

Please try deleting the 3.3 directory, duplicating the 3.2 directory, and rename the duplication to 3.3. Then start up BaseCamp 3.3. Let me know if this works. This process is supposed to happen automatically each time a new version of BaseCamp is ran.

• I loaded the latest BC on my MacBook and installed it. Had the problem of the old version coming up. Then I removed the icon from the dashboard and double clicked on BC in applications. 3.3.2 came up fine. Went back to applications and dragged the icon to the dashboard and all is well.

Why did this work?

Didn't work for me. 3.3 complains that all of the files in the 3.2 directory are corrupt.
• Directories

Am I supposed to know where these directories are? This seems like a Windows-type problem. Either way, I'm dead in the water since the upgrade. I have hours and hours of detailed routes I can't access. Where is the software fix?????????

If you don't mind, please zip up the duplicated directory and send it to [email protected].

The directories are at /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Garmin/BaseCamp/Database/.

We haven't been able to determine the issue yet and as to why it is only affecting a subset of users. Please try duplicating the directories as mentioned in my previous post.
• Duplicating folder worked for me

Duplicating the old 3.2 database folder and renaming it 3.3 worked for me. I have recovered 'My Collection'. Here's what I did.

- Close Basecamp
- Open finder
- Use hotkey cmd+shift+G (In Lion, the User Library is invisible)
- Type in ~/Library/Application Support/Garmin/BaseCamp/Database/
- Press Enter to go to the folder
- Assuming you came from 3.2, you should see at least two folders: '3.2' and '3.3'
- Rename '3.3' to something like '3.3_original'
- Duplicate your '3.2' folder
- Rename this duplicate '3.3'
- Restart Basecamp; your 'My Collection' should be back

That's what's worked for me. Hope for you too!
