Basecamp on Mac 10.6 unstable / missing map tiles

I am running Basecamp 3.3.1 on a 2.? GHz, 4 GB Ram iMac on 10.6.

I find that the software crashed frequently (2-3 times / hour) and also that at random, when I link to the GPS to use the OS Maps on the Card within the GPS I get a lot of missing map tiles on the Mac. Sometimes this is fixed with a software re-start, but sometimes not. And anyway, all this has to be repeated every 20 min or so because of the crashing issue. I set the preference for memory usage to the max (as I have max RAM in my Mac), but this does not help nor hinder me.

Any advice?

Did you have the beta on there prior to installing 3.3.1? I wonder if its known bug that caused the map tile problem is persisting. You could try clearing (deleting) that cache -- I can't recall where it is or what it's called, but you should be able to find that info in the beta topic.

For others information, the cache referred to here is located at:

~/Library/Caches/com.garmin.BaseCamp/TileCache

I just deleted the entire thing. Folder and all of it's contents.

~ = your home folder (the one with your username as it's name)
