Basecamp constant crashes

I have been using Basecamp for Mac, recently to do route planning. Every time I try to use the route tool, it locks up and then crashes. Sometimes, the route calculation progress bar comes up, but its grayed out.

I use a Nuvi 765, with lifetime map updates. I was able to copy the nuvi garmin file to a USB flash drive, but it still crashes. I deleted Basecamp and reinstalled it, but that didn't improve its performance.

I'd appreciate any ideas on how to fix it, as I prefer to do my route planning on the mac and export it to the nuvi.
  • First you need to get your maps installed on your mac. Go to life time updates, plug your garmin into your USB port and start a map download. Click the advance button, and tell the download to install on your mac. If you still get crashes delete all your BC preferences. There are instructions on the forum.

Have you sent a crash report to Garmin about this issue? If you could send another with "KHOLECKO" somewhere in the description field we could try to look into this case specifically.
