Feature Request

I would like to see a 'status bar' when BaseCamp is reading in GPX files. Currently, it just sits there, in a NOT RESPONDING mode, until it is done reading in the file.

I read in files with several hundred tracks and 100,000 track points. It can take an hour to read these files.

I would also like to see more detailed error messages, other than BASECAMP CAN'T READ THE FILE.

Let me know what line # the error is on. Google Earth does this, makes it much easier to figure out what is wrong.

More on loading huge GPX files

Google Earth loads in a KML file with 500 tracks and 200,000 track points in a matter of seconds. BaseCamp takes over an hour to do the same thing with a huge GPX file.

Does BaseCamp have a limit on the number of tracks and points?
