Hello I have an Oregon 300 and using a mac. On my oregon unit, I can see all my tracks. approx 40 of them. but when I go to garmin in finder. I can only see about 15 of them. would anyone know why this is?
So in base camp I go and rename all the tracks I can, now I go to send to device and it works. In base camp under my device all my tracks are renamed. Now when I go on my device they have not changed?
You can't really see tracks in the Finder. You can see .gpx files, each .gpx file can contain several tracks.
So where on your device are you looking when you say "Now when I go on my device they have not changed?"
If you change the name of an Item in the left column of BaseCamp, that is NOT the name that is displayed on your device. Double click on the Item in the left pane, that opens the item properties. When you change the name inside the item properties, the name that is displayed on your device will be changed.
so in finder yes I am looking at the .gpx file. It has the name that i gave it when I was in the field. usually the date. Now I am in base camp I go to my collection on the left double click, the summary comes up. there I rename it and sometimes alter it. Then I send it to device and it has been renamed there. Now I go to finder,garmin,gpx and the tracks are listed a few have changed but almost all have stayed with the original name. but if I double click on that file in finder it comes up in base camp listed as the new name that i gave it ? I hope that explained it better and thanks for the help.
