This new feature listed in the notes about 3.3.1
General:
• Changed to read all GPX files on a memory card, similar to how devices behave.

Anyone else fiddled with this feature?

I found I can put GPX files on a memory card, and look at them without importing any of the data into BaseCamp.

I can edit those files directly on the card, but UNDO is not supported...
I don't understand. Why?

I think this is useful, but still pretty limiting.

It shows me that since this is possible it should also be fairly easy to give us an "Open File" dialog so we can navigate to any GPX file on any Volume and be able to do the same thing. This would make it easy to look over the hundreds of files I have from MapSource and pick the items I actually want to import into MyCollection.

Many of the files I have were acquired from others, so the ability to look at the contents before importing is very nice to do.
  • I know it's not quite the same, but you can always import a file, copy the items you want to keep into a different folder and then delete what's left from your folder. This is a good time to point that when you delete a list, there is an option to delete all the items that are only in that list.
