Search Function?

I'm trying to learn the search function in BaseCamp.

Some addresses it will find, others it draws a complete blank. These are places I've lived or worked so I know they exist. In all cases, involving streets search can't find, I can locate them on the map and when I put the arrow on the street it will indicate the street number. So the software, I assume, has the street and number.

I've tried using zip codes but that isn't the answer. I gather "find" by zip code isn't supported.

Is this a BaseCamp problem?

This program would not be good for anyone trying to reliably plan a route.
using addresses.

I've worked with the Wiki tutoral. Following the directions worked for a couple addresses and failed for two or three.

If anyone cares to try, see if you can find 35 Gates Avenue, Gillette, NJ, USA 07933. It should fall between Mitchell and Torbert.

BaseCamp doesn't seem to be able to "find" any of the streets in the Gillette area until they move into one of the neighboring townships. But, my Montana didn't have any problem searching your address. It popped right up.

Looks like BC has a search problem in this area (and others???).

Your Montana is right on the money. With BaseCamp you're getting the same results I do so I feel it's not my lack of computer skills.

My Zumo 660 also locates the address without a problem.

There is indeed an issue in BaseCamp finding addresses in Gillette. We are looking into this issue. Thanks for the feedback.

I appreciate your reply. At least I know the problem is not from my slim computer knowledge.

This issue will be resolved in the next version of BaseCamp. Apologies for the delay.
