    I don't have this problem(?). My Proximity Alarms transfer just fine from both Windows and the Mac BaseCamp.

    On the Montana, when you open the Proximity Alarms app do you not see your waypoints and the proximity distance?

    Cheers,

    Hi
    When i send my waypoints with proximity alarm from base camp to my Montana, the proximity alarm information is lost :-)
    In Proximity Alarm app, i can´t see the information. I make my alarms manually in the 650T.
    When i have all proximity alarms ok, and i connect my unit to base camp, and i send a waypoint to the montana, all the proximity alarms are lost.....new waypoint information about proximity alarm, and the old waypoints proximity alarms information is delete.
    :mad:
    Best regards
    I´m using beta 3.67.

    Hi
    I try today send waypoints to my Montana and this is my test.
    If i send wayponits with proximity alarms to de Montana, then all is ok.
    But if i send waypoints with proximity alarms to my MicroSD Card, them the proximity alarms are lost.
    Is a bug.

    Yes, I can confirm this behavior. Waypoints w/ Prox Alarms sent to µSD do not transfer Prox Alarm at least on our Montana's.

    Need someone else with a different GPS to verify please.

    Does the GPX for said waypoints on your SD card have the same proximity tags as it does on your device? If that's too technical, please feel free to post or mail the files, if you'd like.

    PAXTER1,

    Below is the XML from two waypoints that were given Proximity distances in BaseCamp. Then one was sent to Internal Storage, the other to µSD Card.

    µSD Card Waypoint:

    <wpt lat="47.810309054329991" lon="-119.970766576007009">
    <time>2011-12-19T05:11:47Z</time>
    <name>Pox-on-µSD</name>
    <cmt>Piggy</cmt>
    <desc>Piggy</desc>
    <sym>Contact, Pig</sym>
    <extensions>
    <gpxx:WaypointExtension>
    <gpxx:Proximity>160.9344</gpxx:Proximity>
    <gpxx:DisplayMode>SymbolAndName</gpxx:DisplayMode>
    </gpxx:WaypointExtension>
    </extensions>
    </wpt>

    Montana Storage Waypoint:

    <wpt lat="47.807362899184227" lon="-119.974175998941064">
    <time>2011-12-19T05:17:52Z</time>
    <name>Beebe Bridge Park</name>
    <cmt>On Internal Memory</cmt>
    <desc>On Internal Memory</desc>
    <sym>Picnic Area</sym>
    <extensions>
    <wptx1:WaypointExtension>
    <wptx1:Proximity>321.8688</wptx1:Proximity>
    <wptx1:DisplayMode>SymbolAndName</wptx1:DisplayMode>
    </wptx1:WaypointExtension>
    </extensions>
    </wpt>

    As you can see the Waypoint sent to the µSD card is using the "old" Garmin Extension XML. Where as the Internal Waypoint is written using the "new" Garmin Extension XML.

    Looks like it's going to be up to BaseCamp to figure out if the SD Card attached is for a newer device or an older device(?).

    Hi PAXTER1
    I create now two new waypoints.
    Waypoint 1, called Waypoint 1 , and i send it with basecamp beta to my Montana 650T. Works ok and it has proximity alarm. This is the tag:

    </metadata>
    <wpt lat="43.514549732208252" lon="-8.126599788665771">
    <ele>77</ele>
    <time>2011-12-19T19:42:27Z</time>
    <name>Waypoint1</name>
    <cmt>xxx</cmt>
    <desc>xxx</desc>
    <sym>Pin, Red</sym>
    <extensions>
    <wptx1:WaypointExtension>
    <wptx1:Proximity>50</wptx1:Proximity>
    <wptx1: DisplayMode>SymbolAndName</wptx1: DisplayMode>
    </wptx1:WaypointExtension>
    </extensions>
    </wpt>
    </gpx>

    Ok, y create a new waypoints, called Waypoint 2, and i send it with basecamp beta to my microsd, it don´t has proximity alarm in the Montana. this is the tag:

    </metadata>
    <wpt lat="43.514571189880371" lon="-8.121256828308105">
    <ele>40</ele>
    <time>2011-12-19T19:43:50Z</time>
    <name>Waypoint2</name>
    <cmt>xxx</cmt>
    <desc>xxx</desc>
    <sym>Pin, Red</sym>
    <extensions>
    <gpxx:WaypointExtension>
    <gpxx:Proximity>50</gpxx:Proximity>
    <gpxx: DisplayMode>SymbolAndName</gpxx: DisplayMode>
    </gpxx:WaypointExtension>
    </extensions>
    </wpt>
    </gpx>
    The waypoint 2 info in the microsdcard, is in my userdata.gpx archive.

    And if i make a proximity alarm manually from Montana, with Waypoint 2, this is the tag:

    </metadata>
    <wpt lat="43.514571189880371" lon="-8.121256828308105">
    <ele>40</ele>
    <time>2011-12-19T19:43:50Z</time>
    <name>Waypoint2</name>
    <cmt>xxx</cmt>
    <desc>xxx</desc>
    <sym>Pin, Red</sym>
    <extensions><wptx1:WaypointExtension><wptx1:Proximity>49.998512</wptx1:Proximity></wptx1:WaypointExtension>
    <gpxx:WaypointExtension>
    <gpxx:Proximity>50</gpxx:Proximity>
    <gpxx: DisplayMode>SymbolAndName</gpxx: DisplayMode>
    </gpxx:WaypointExtension>
    </extensions>
    </wpt>
    </gpx>

    This is the difference.

    Hi
    There is a mode, and the proximity alarms works fine in microsdcard:
    Create waypoints with proximity alarms in the Garmin Basecamp, then send the waypoints to the unit, not microsd card.
    Ok, close Basecamp, and them from Finder, go to GPX folder in the Garmin Montana and cut Waypoints.gpx archive.
    Paste it in Gpx folder, in microsd card, and the proximity alarms works OK.

    Best regards.
  • There is a problem when sending proximity waypoints to the micro SD card on the Montana, Oregon, GPS 62, or Dakota. This issue should be fixed in the final release, in the meantime sending the data directly to the device should work fine.
