Backup broken in BaseCamp 3.2.2

I tried the File->Backup... but it fails to backup!

It says:

"Creating BaseCamp backup. Please wait..."

Then, the progress bar moves for a while and finally after a couple of minutes it says:

"An exception occurred during the backup process."

I can see that the backup file grew to around 2.3GB before the exception.

So, how am I suppose to backup the data?
How do I fix this.

I've just spent 4 days downloading BirdsEye Imagery and as everyone knows it is just very tedious and slow to download any amount of data. I would hate to have to start all over again from a clean install :-(
  • Sorry you are experiencing an issue backing your data up. We have identified an issue with backing up individual JNX files that are over a GB in size that we are looking into. In the meantime, one way to back them up is on your device or on a card. You can copy any BirdsEye from a device back into BaseCamp if something happened.

In case you don't have any SD cards handy:

Compressing your ~Library/Application Support/Garmin/BaseCamp folder and archiving the zip file somewhere safe should also back up your important BaseCamp data until we have a fix for this. The easiest way to do that is to browse to the ~Library/Application Support/Garmin folder in Finder, right click on the "BaseCamp" folder, and click "Compress" in that context menu.
