how to remove intermediate points in route? and how to change end/startpoints?

I downloaded a route from the link above.

but it has over a 1000 waypoints which is a lot of flags on my base camp map!

What should i do ? keep the waypoints or is there someway to make the waypoints invisible while keeping the route and then adding my own important waypoints?

also how can i change the start/end points?

WOW I figured it out after many hours! it sure isn't easy but what you want to do is download the original file as a track. you can choose to simply it on gypsies.com website options before downloading. then if you want to change the starting point you find the point where you want to start and then select it and the rest of the points in the direction your going and split it. then from the original file split in the other direction and then join the two tracks together. this is all done in "on my computer" . then if you want to simply if it some more go to base camp preferences and set the simply options under transfer. transfer your new joined track to your garmin and it will simply the waypoints to the number you selected. then you can of course take it and turn it into a route. YESS!

You could have just Edited the Route in BaseCamp. To change the Start and End locations, just "Move" the Waypoints. Open the Route Properties and select the point you want to move. Then using the Select Arrow, just press ALT+Click the point you want to move and Drag it to the location you want. The Route will recalculate.

Or, if there are to many moves to make, in BaseCamp you could creat your own Waypoints then open the Properties of the Route and delete the Waypoints in it that you didn't want (when you select a Waypoint in the Properties List it will highlight on the map) and inserted the ones you created. The Route will recalculate.
