GPSmap62s: track doesn't match map

The track from my GPSmap62s doesn't match against the map in BaseCamp. The displayed track is anywhere from ~200 feet to .62 miles away from my actual route. In other words, where I was driving down I-25, it shows my track somewhere off the highway----at some points up to .6 miles off the highway!

The map I am using is the Topo U.S. 24K Southwest.

Any ideas?

A few others have reported similar conditions in other Fora. Is this consistent no matter where you are on the map? Or is it just one Track?

Do you have another map in BC that you can compare to? If not try downloading the area of your Track from Open Street Maps.

Another thing you might check, click on the "N" alignment Arrow (upper left corner of the Map). Sometimes this get's the map and your data offset.

This is a repeatable condition - would be nice to have it fixed. To make this happen all one needs to do is inadvertently rotate the maps just a little - almost unnoticeable. Clicking on the alignment "N" arrow will right the map to North Up and fix this problem.
