Getting the map to base camp

I recently purchased a new motorcycle that came with the BMW Navigator 4 (rebadged, modded 660). I did the update to 2012.2, no problems. When I connect it to base camp (on a MB Pro running Lion) the latest map shows up in the L hand panel under Garmin. When I disconnect the garmin (using the proper procedure) the updated map version also disappears. In the past when I updated a units maps they were available to me in base camp and I could click on maps and pick the latest installed map.

Is there a new procedure or does lion prevent this? I do not have a card inserted into the gps, just using internal memory. Thanks

If you upload the map again to your GPS, about the second or third window you will seen an advance button. Click the advance button and check the box to load maps on your computer. I guess Garmin think only advance users wants maps on their computer.

You could also copy the Garmin folder from the GPS to a USB flash drive and use that. Basecamp is reading the map file from your GPS, but can also read it from any other removable media.

Another trick would be to use Disk Utility to create a Disk Image aof the Nuvi. Mounting that disk image should also allow Basecamp to access the map.
