Deleting Routes

I'm a newbie, so this may be real simple, but I can't delete old routes from Basecamp. I delete them on my Mac, delete them on the 60CX, but when I try to load a new route from the Mac to the 60CX, all the old routes reappear on the 60CX (not on the Mac), but not the newest route I just created on the Mac that I want to keep on the CX! What gives?

Running the v 2.1.x software as the 3.1.x kept crashing.

Only the newest devices: Oregon x50s, Dakotas and the Montana will actually let BaseCamp delete user data that is on your device. For the GPS 60, you will need to delete them using the UI on the GPS. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I did delete using the user interface on the device. The routes were deleted on the 60Cx (only after I turned it off, and then back on again, BTW. Clunky, to be sure!). I also deleted them from 'My Collection' on the Mac. They still are deleted, meaning they don't show up in 'My Collection'. But when I try to add a new route to the Cx created in Basecamp on the Mac, all the old routes I thought were gone, come back. What gives?

I think the answer is in another post you wrote. You say there that you highlight the route in My Collection and choose Send to Device. That is not the way to do it.

Instead, create a new "list" consisting of just the route you want to send and highlight that list.

Highlighting an individual route only works for exporting that route. Transfer will only send complete lists to the GPS. Therefore if My Collection is highlighted it will send everything in it.

A simpler, yet less-known feature, is drag and drop. Click and drag any item (or multiple highlighted items) from "My Collection" to the device you want it sent to.
