Exporting to .CSV changes coordinate system

Question about exporting procedures:

When my girlfriend sets the coordinate system to UTM and transfers waypoints to and from the GPS, everything works fine. But when she exports those waypoints to a spreadsheet/.CSV file for further manipulation, they get changed from UTM to lat/long.

Any quick tips on resolving the issue, with respect to special export options not covered in the general preferences?

I could be wrong but I don't believe that Garmin has ever supported any position format other than lat/lon when "exporting" or "Save As". Not even to GPX.

Your GPS translates the lat/lon to UTM based on your preferences in the GPS. Just as BaseCamp or MapSource do when they receive the file from the GPS - which was recorded in lat/lon format.

I've always had to cut/paste from MapSource (now BaseCamp) into my spreadsheets if I needed to display a different position format besides lat/lon.
