This is 100% repeatable. I was dragging a route to the Nuvi, and when I tried to import the route from My Data folder, the Nuvi either cut off or froze. I did a hard reset and trashed the GPX/current.gpx and Temp.gpx files and emptied the trash. Tried a different route but with 2 inserted waypoints and the nuvi cut of again on import. I deleted data from the desktop as described Both routes that was causing the crash had two waypoints inserted and I had changed the auto naming. I recreated the route with just the start and end and it uploaded fine. I changed the route name and it uploaded fine. I drug one of the inserted waypoints into the route and uploaded the route and the route crashed the nuvi when importing.
Looks like you can not upload routes the contain more than 2 points to the Nuvi 1490. From the example above, if I remove the inserted waypoint and recalculate the route, the route uploads fine. If I recreate the route and drag route to a point just above the waypoint used in the example, I get a special inserted waypoint but this route crashes the nuvi.
I think it is a map problem. The route is to Balsam Campground in Smoky Mt. NP. The Map Is City Navigator 2012.4 but TomTom, Garmin, and Google all use the same maps I think and all three route me to the camp ground suing a road that has been closed for 20 years. I can add waypoints to the route described above as long as the waypoint does not force the route to use the the road that is open and the route uploads fine.
